Prayer Team leader, Larry Nemitz, and I have recently chosen a new series for Wednesday evenings. Intercessors’ Group had completed their series, When You Don’t Know What To Pray, and needed another. The title of our new study is `The Biblical Way of the Cross,’ a series of meditations on the last week of Jesus’ life. Since Lent was fast approaching this seemed very appropriate.
What is the series about?
The fourteen topics correspond to the new 14 all-biblical Stations of the Cross developed by Pope John Paul II. These are becoming popular with many Protestants as well. (See for example http://www.markdroberts.com/htmfiles/resources/stationsofthecross.htm). Larry will lead the first study on this Wednesday, Feb. 9 at 7 pm. Week to week, Larry and I will share teaching responsibilities. I plan to cover the last two topics of the series in our Good Friday service on April 22.
What happens on Wednesday evenings?
After about 10 minutes of sharing time, the first half-hour is spent in prayer. Then we study together. The Wednesday evening Intercessors’ group meets at 7 pm and is open to any who feel the call to pray for others and study God’s word.
